Everyone needs recovery. The deepest recovery is new life in Christ, lived one day at a time with the help of the Holy Spirit. Life with intimacy disorder is at best, "sin management." Replace casual, cultural Christianity with meaningful, convictional Christianity.
Comprehensive, whole person care for body, mind, and spirit is supported by careful integration of evangelical theology and psychology. Integration prevents over-spiritualizing, over-psychologizing, and becoming too focused on trying to manage unwanted behaviors.
With over 30 years experience, Rob offers intensives for a variety of concerns including personal growth, marriage, parenting, homeschooling dynamics, spiritual abuse, and sexuality - including abuse, infidelity, childhood/teenage porn exposure, and sex addiction.
"You were the first counselor I found online that really put “Bible” over “psychology” without avoiding psychology."
"Our counseling intensive gave us hope for putting our marriage back together. Rob provided us with a wealth of ways to understand ourselves, how sin effects a relationship, and pointed us back to God as the Author of healing brokenness. Since our time with Rob, he has continued to touch base with us and encourage our progress toward healing. We are grateful for his insight, his heart to see marriages restored, and his focus on The Lord."
"We were so impressed with Rob and his balance of Biblical truth and compassion for us. I, as the wife of a sex addict, felt completely cared for and ministered to throughout the week."
"I called the counselor at Focus on the Family, and she recommended you to us for sex addiction issues. I then was able to go to your website to listen to the video and read more. After giving this info to our local counselor, checking out other counselors and much prayer we decided that this was the direction that God was sending us."
"During our week… we learned a lot about who we are, our families of origin, and many things that fed into this addiction. Both of us were able to realize things and work on our own issues in order to overcome the sex addiction. It was very difficult to find Christian organizations that special in sex addiction. I was very relieved, grateful, and even surprised when I heard about your ministry. It helped us so much to understand more about addictions and to learn that we are certainly not the only ones going through this. Rob was very knowledgeable about this area, and it was such a help to us to learn how to deal with all the things we are going through. "
"After some research and talking personally with Rob, our pastor recommended that we come to you. He trusted Focus on the Family and felt that Rob was the best of the best. We trust our pastor immensely and after looking at the website online, we were convinced that this was the right place to go."
"We haven’t had a lot of experience with counseling, but we knew that we needed an extended time of concentrated counseling. It also needed to be in a place other than where we live. Colorado Springs was a beautiful place to come to even though we had to deal with some really ugly stuff. The amount of time each day was perfect and felt very healthy and balanced."
"I loved the nature of the intensive and all that you can cover in that time. Aldo, Rob helped me to understand the connection between counseling and our relationship to Christ and the Holy Spirit in our lives."
"We are thrilled with the whole experience. I am amazed at the amount of followup we get with no additional cost to us. I was so impressed by the fact that Rob looked at my husband before we left and said that he would be “honored” to pray for him after we got back home. It was compassionate and really above and beyond. "
"I don’t think that all counselors put as much of themselves into their counseling as Rob. I felt that he truly knows the meaning of compassionate listening. "
"“I have known Rob Jackson for many years as a counselor and servant in ministry. He is a man of great integrity and professional skill. His goal is always to help his clients reach their potential in Christ. Rob is a strong combination of grace and truth as he serves others with compassion and skill. I recommend him without reservation."
"“I have had quite a bit of experience working with counselors particularly in regard to pornography addiction. Rob stands out as one of the very best (if not the best) as I found him to be truly caring, sensitive, understanding and full of wisdom – particularly Biblical wisdom. Whenever a situation arises where someone is struggling with a pornography addiction, Rob is the one I usually turn to first. I highly recommend Rob Jackson.”"
"“I have known Rob for several years and respect him as a Christian counselor. I have referred several clients to him and with confidence will do so again. He is a skilled professional with a lot to offer. I highly recommend him.”"
"Rob Jackson is, in my opinion as a colleague and friend, a spiritually gifted new talent on God’s horizon. He his a teacher with strong convictions, and a proponent of God’s Word, manifested through his disciplined Godly walk, work ethic, concern for his targeted client population, and his writings that we have been privileged to read. I believe his Iceberg model has excellent potential for helping people come to terms with their addictions and grown in their recovery. I’m pleased to hear that it has already been helpful to many. I look forward to seeing Rob continue developing his fresh ideas into solid, workable, clinical theory and application, to the glory of God and the benefit of all of our clients."
"Thank you for your participation and your support of the Greater Grand Rapids Community Marriage Policy and the Pine Rest Family Institute by your assistance in the Marriage and Family Building Series. As you can see from the enclosed evaluation, your presentation was well received and was of great benefit to those that attended. My staff received many positive and appreciative comments about your presentation."
I offer both counseling and coaching. My counseling practice is limited to Mississippi where I am a licensed professional counselor. Since I live in Florida, I don’t have the flexibility to serve in Mississippi more than once or twice a year. I was also licensed in Washington and Colorado when I lived in those states over the course of my 35 years in professional practice.
In my counseling practice I work with a Master of Science in clinical psychology and frequently offer personality tests that help to diagnose various mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.
In recent years I have transitioned to remote coaching services. I appreciate the greater flexibility that allows me to coach across state lines and integrate Christian faith when desired by the client. I offer coaching intensives via Zoom and/or in Orlando, FL.
When you contact me via telephone, email, website, or in person, you’ll receive a compassionate and professional response. However, there are limits to confidentiality in special circumstances. Please read about these in our brief but important privacy policy.
For coaching intensives I offer 16 hours of therapy:
These hours are listed in the Eastern Time Zone and we can negotiate the schedule if our time zones are incompatible.
Aftercare: Following your intensive I provide four additional hours that you can schedule in 30- and 60-minute increments anytime over the next 12 months.
I also offer six months of weekly webinars that meet on Thursdays at 6 PM Pacific | 7 PM Mountain | 8 PM Central | 9 PM Eastern. These classes are recorded in the event that you are unable to attend.
It’s easy! Call or text me at +1(719) 440-4893.
No. The ethics of my profession will not permit me to initiate the first call to a non-client. Please have your spouse call +1 (719) 440-4893, or call me when the two of you are together.
Confrontation is never easy but when your marriage is in trouble it's an essential first step. You confront because you care – even if your partner seems intoxicated with an affair or other sexually compulsive behaviors. Since this can be a complicated proposition, I have two articles for you: "Confronting Your Spouse’s Secret Sin" and "A Checklist for Confronting Your Spouse."
Each spouse has the right to accept or refuse support. However, if both parties want to heal their marriage, professional help is often necessary. In the event your spouse refuses to participate, your own need for compassionate, objective help increases significantly. I encourage you to read Chapter 13 in Beth Moore’s book, So Long Insecurity – You’ve Been a Bad Friend to Us. She confronts the issue of pornography and infidelity boldly and sensibly, and stresses the need for professional help that is Christ-centered. It was a great privilege to have her quote my work in this chapter!
I know these are discouraging times, but it’s important to hold onto hope and to give reconciliation time. Even if your spouse arrives with low motivation, he or she may still find the grace to recover. And if he or she attends, but remains checked-out, at least you'll know you’ve done your part.
Yes. The remote intensive makes it even easier to work with parents and adult children who live in different geographical locations.
Yes, approximately 15% of my clients are 18 and under, involved with various types of sexual activity. If you’d like to learn how to confront your adolescent, I have an article for you.
I offer two coaching intensives per month. This limits my available to 24 couples or families annually.
You will meet with me for the entire intensive and aftercare.
No; while group coaching has several advantages when the time is right, I have found private coaching provides a level of safety that is needed for the couple or family.
I provide a multi-day service called brief coaching intensive, and insurance will not reimburse for this remote service.
My 9-step Iceberg Model of Christian Spiritual Formation™ takes into account the importance of self-examination (taking personal responsibility), confession, friendship with God, and personal transformation (bearing “the fruit of repentance” consistent with true and lasting recovery). I also teach the importance of community and how to integrate the body, mind, and spirit.
Each week I hope you’ll join me for an educational webinar or teleconference. On Thursdays you will receive an email that contains the necessary contact information for this service which meets at 5:00 PM Pacific | 6:00 PM Mountain | 7:00 PM Central | 8:00 PM Eastern. If you’re unable to attend, you can listen to the recording via Internet or telephone when it's convenient for you.
Absolutely, we can continue to work together if that is in your best interest.
Remember the first rule of medicine? The goal is to "do no harm” between the time you schedule your intensive and work with me. Meanwhile, continue to pray, stay in the Scriptures, and seek the discreet counsel of a few same-gendered Christian confidants. It may be better to give each other a gentle break, rather than trying to start your intensive without me. If you have additional questions or concerns in this time of waiting, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I routinely invite my clients to utilize their time with me in the way they deem best. The weekend intensive makes it easy to serve individuals, couples, and/or families – even in different geographical locations, all during one weekend.
Absolutely. I believe our mutual faith in Christ offers a better outcome.
No, you don’t have to have any faith or practice. I have worked with other non-Christians and I’m happy to do so. Let’s talk and see if I can reasonably meet your needs and expectations.
There are some circumstances wherein a couple may be better served separately. I wrote this blog post specific to intensives for couples impacted by sexual addiction and betrayal trauma. You can generalize these principles to your circumstances.
Absolutely! Please call +1 (719) 440-4893 to talk directly to me. I’ll be happy to provide a thirty-minute, no-cost consultation. You may also schedule your free consultation online.
Absolutely. Contact me at 719.440.4893 or online here.
The longer you wait the more you're likely to hurt. Take heart and invite Rob to help you sort out your concerns.
